The author was inspired to write this book due to his personal fascination with life, how our experiences are interconnected and his desire to shine light on the hidden stories of ordinary people which are often discounted by traditional storytellers.
The author grew up in a small Ethiopian village which taught him about the ups and downs of living in a third-world country. He went on to becoming a successful professional in the United States which gave him the perspectives on the similarities and differences of cultural and political struggles in the two worlds. The author is a devoted father which gave him the motivation to write a story based on realities, no matter how painful that maybe.
The author hopes readers would self-reflect, after reading the book, and ask "are my decisions affecting those around me negatively or positively?"
This book is ideal for anyone interested in learning more about the history and culture of the world around them. The global diaspora community in particular and others of African descent may have more in common. Ethiopians and Eritreans around the world and their adult children may feel special connection to the various stories in the book and also find its constructive criticism enlightening.
WARNING: You may find some of the characters and stories too personal and connected to people you know. Please know that this novel is a historical fiction, and the characters, stories and events are either fictional or the imaginations of the author.
The book interior is 284 pages on a 6" x 9" paper size.
It's available in paperback, hardcover and Ebook formats.
